Feltham and Heston MP Seema Malhotra has congratulated the Trinjan Group on their 20th anniversary.

The group was founded on April 27th 2004 to provide a platform for women to socialise, network, share their experiences and raise funds for good causes. It has become a strong social network and a true lifeline for women who are lonely and isolated, whether due to illness or bereavement, retirement or redundancy.

Malhotra said: “I first came across Trinjan many years ago, but over the last 10 years I have seen much more of the power of their work, particularly when they supported my family during difficult times. The Trinjan Group has a close relationship with The Mulberry Centre at West Middlesex Hospital – a charity based on the hospital site that provides tailor-made emotional and practical support to cancer sufferers and their families. The group’s incredible efforts have raised over £50,000 for The Mulberry Centre. Our own family were signposted to the centre when my father was diagnosed with cancer in 2013. It is a hugely valuable, welcoming and informative space that would not exist without the help of its 140 volunteers, and support from local organisations such as Trinjan.

In recognition of the achievements of the Trinjan Group, I tabled an Early Day Motion (EDM 726) in Parliament supported by Ruth Cadbury MP to congratulate the group on its anniversary and share its amazing work, which is an inspiration to others.”
