I know local people are rightly concerned by plans from Hillingdon Council to allow sewage to be dumped in the River Crane – one of the few rivers in the country which doesn’t currently have any licensed sewage discharges.
These plans would be a major step backward for biodiversity and community usage.
I’ve written to the Environment Agency to share my concerns and I will continue to work with the River Crane Partnership, Hounslow Council and community groups so that the River Crane is at the heart of community life in Hounslow.
