Responding to news that the Conservative Party are planning on introducing legislation to restrict the right to strike, Seema Malhotra, the Member of Parliament for Feltham and Heston and Shadow Minister for Businesses and Consumers, condemned the plans.

The legislation, which is likely to lead to key workers being sacked, will affect transport, health, education, border security and nuclear decommissioning.

She said: “Tory failure has led us to the worst strikes in decades. Now instead of resolving them, the government want to force through anti-worker legislation to fire nurses and teachers.

“It’s utterly disgraceful.

“Labour will reverse this legislation.”
