Seema Malhotra, the Member of Parliament for Feltham and Heston and Shadow Minister for Business and Consumers, has spoken in her ministerial role in a debate on family businesses.

She said:

Family Businesses are at the heart of our local community and economy here in Feltham and Heston, but they’ve been let down by 12 years of low growth and no long-term plan for businesses.
Having grown-up above my parent’s family shop, I know the vital contribution family businesses make to our local community.
The Labour Party would support them to grow and prosper by scrapping business rates, reforming skills training, and implementing a new industrial strategy.
