Following its launch at the end of April, this week I organised the second ever meeting of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on the Organisation for Economic Co-Operation and Development (or the APPG on the OECD for short!).
The OECD is an international organisation that works to improve policymaking around the globe. Collaborating with governments, policymakers, and citizens, the OECD works to find solutions to a range of social, economic and environmental challenges. It provides a unique hub for sharing knowledge, data and experience with experts from around the world.
The APPG on the OECD aims to facilitate information sharing between the OECD and MPs and peers, and to raise awareness of the work of the OECD.
At the APPG’s meeting this week, the group’s members heard a presentation by Anthony Gooch, Director of Public Affairs and Communications at the OECD. We also discussed the research and forward plan of the group, focusing on topics including economic recovery post Covid, net-zero, and sharing best practices between nations.
I look forward to working more with the APPG and the OECD in future.
