Seema Malhotra Presenting Voices from Feltham and Heston at COP26
Seema Malhotra Presenting Voices from Feltham and Heston at COP26

My visit to COP 26 was fantastic. A few weeks prior to the event I worked with local schools in our constituency to write messages to world leaders sharing their ideas on how to protect the environment. I was able to then put these letters and images into a booklet and share it with some incredible people, including the UK’s negotiation team.

During my visit, I also met up with some international delegates where speakers shared their stories at panel discussions. We discussed issues such as women and minorities, and transport, which is of course vital to Feltham and Heston.

I also attended a number of fringe events including UKHospitality’s exhibition of sustainability initiatives in the hospitality sector. I spoke at the event about Labour’s plans for Government and how we will support the economic transition to net zero.

I want to thank the staff and pupils at Beavers Primary, Marjory Kinnon School, Reach Academy, Rivers Academy, St Mark’s Catholic School, and Wellington Primary for their help and for sharing with their brilliant ideas with me.
