Seema Malhotra, Labour and Co-operative Member of Parliament, helped launch a campaign promoting awareness of organ donation across BAME communities on Thursday the 1st of August.

The event was organised by Tan Dhesi, the Labour Member of Parliament for Slough, and welcomed international Punjabi singing stars from “Ang Daan Karo” along with many other esteemed guests. This campaign focuses on raising awareness of organ donation across BAME communities as, due to many reasons, organ donation rates are much lower among BAME people.

Seema Malhotra has a long-standing interest in raising awareness of organ donation, and one of her earliest acts in Parliament was a Bill proposing that pupils should learn about blood, organ and bone marrow donation in school.
