Seema Malhotra MP appeared on BBC News Beyond 100 Days on the 12th November 2018 speaking about the ongoing damage the Government’s Brexit chaos is inflicting on our economy and prosperity.
Seema Malhotra MP highlighted that the inability of Theresa May’s government to secure a deal was putting people’s jobs and livelihoods at risk. “Theresa May has hit yet another Brexit Monday – starting the week in crisis, the potential of a deal imminent, then a roll-back, then a delay in the EU Summit maybe until next month. This isn’t the way to conduct negotiations as a country that is supposed to be sure of its own future.”
“People are genuinely worried about what’s going to happen for businesses and families in our constituencies. If we impede trade crossing the UK-Calais border it could put food supplies and medical supplies at risk. I’ve had a surgeon who has said that you could see operations be halted because many of our operations require just-in-time delivery of medicines and equipment. There is a lot at stake here.”
