Last night a senseless terrorist attack took place in Manchester, killing more than 20 people and injuring more than sixty. This attack has shocked every community across the country.
The attack barbarically targeted children and young people and their parents. From all the local community we send our thoughts and heartfelt sympathy for all those killed and injured and their families.
Our incredible emergency services have worked tirelessly and professionally under very difficult circumstances and we extend our deepest thanks and support.
In light of these horrific events, all campaigning has been suspended by all parties until further notice.
This attack has sought to create fear in our communities and cities, but the people of Manchester of all faiths and backgrounds are united in their darkest hour. They have shown that we will not be cowed by such evil, that we will not be divided.
We stand with them.
