Seema Malhotra MP, Labour and Cooperative MP for Feltham and Heston, has welcomed the success of Hounslow schools as judged by Ofsted.
Government inspectors have judged 96% of all Hounslow schools as good or outstanding, up from 74% in May 2014. Of the borough’s special schools inspected, they were found to be good or better, up from 80% in May 2014. For Primary schools in Hounslow, performance levels at Key Stage 1 were better than London and national for the percentage of children achieving the expected standard in reading, writing and mathematics. With Key Stage 2 performance levels also reaching the expected standards.
Seema Malhotra MP commented “This is a great tribute to the work of Hounslow Council and our fantastic teachers and school staff across the Borough. Every day they show an outstanding commitment to working with each other and with parents to deliver the very best education for our pupils. As someone who attended local schools I am incredibly proud of Hounslow’s national success despite the challenges we know our education sector is facing. And most of all, I congratulate our young people on their hard work and achievements.”
