Last week I attended the very moving funeral of 20 year old Paawan Purba, a pharmacology student from Heston who died from meningitis just two days after contracting what appeared like flu. I am backing calls by her incredibly brave family to raise awareness of this horrific disease to increase take up of vaccinations and to support more research so that one day we see an end to meningitis.

Today I raised this issue in Parliament https://hansard.parliament.uk/commons/2016-09-15/debates/Hocdebdt20160915scrlgtghs_2Cstatementod18tibusinessofthehouse/BusinessOfTheHouse and have called for a debate in the Autumn.
