Feltham & Heston MP Seema Malhotra joined around twenty local residents and Councillors Hanif Khan and Bishnu Gurung in cleaning up Feltham Bridge House Pond in a day of action.
Seema said ”Feltham Bridge House Pond could contribute so much more to the High Street if it were better maintained and a better environment. We cleaned up bottles, glass, cans and other rubbish which has turned a beautiful spot into an inaccessible site. I congratulate the local residents who have taken action and brought the community together”
Richard Clarke, who has set up a Friends Group for the community facility, added: “It was great to see so many people involved in cleaning the Pond up. This area is a key part of Feltham’s heritage and we want to celebrate it and make it somewhere for everyone to enjoy. We now need a better plan for maintaining and improving the area while protecting its special history. I hope the Council can move forward on these issues.”
