Today I sent a letter to the Rt Hon Dominic Raab MP regarding the current situation in East Jerusalem. I call on the Government for their urgent intervention in helping to stop the violence and the forced evictions of Palestinians from their own homes in Sheikh Jarrah. 

I remind the Government of our diplomatic role and influence, but also the responsibility Britain holds amongst the international community. To prevent further violence, recognition of both states is now urgently needed as the precursor to negotiations for a future lasting settlement, not as a result of them.
