The government has been forced to release statistics on the impact of business rates following an intervention by Seema Malhotra MP.

The figures appeared to have been circulated to Conservative MPs, but not those of other parties.  This is likely to be contrary to the breach protocols on Impartiality, Objectivity and Integrity in the UK Statistics Authority’s Code of Practice of Official Statistics, as well as the Ministerial Code.
