Feltham and Heston MP Seema Malhotra has called on the local community to help support Morrisons in Hounslow West which is proposed for closure following losses at the store over the last year.
In a meeting with Morrisons management and store representatives, the MP along with Stephen Fry, CEO Hounslow Chamber of Commerce and local councillors, called for the community to work with staff on ideas as to how the store could be improved and better supported.
A consultation process is currently underway with staff at Morrisons coordinating ideas which will be reviewed with the Morrisons management team. Ideas can be forwarded to Seema.malhotra.mp@parliament.uk and should be sent by Jan 28th 2016.
Seema Malhotra said, “This was a very helpful meeting which showed the commitment there is to looking at every opportunity to keep the store open and support the wonderful staff who serve the community every day. We need people to in send their ideas and views about what can be improved in the next few days and to encourage more people to come and shop there.”
Stephen Fry, CEO of Hounslow Chamber of Commerce said:
